We have 5 pages of photos for Nepal.
We arrived in Nepal on the far western border with India. There is one highway along the southern border with India. This part of the county is known as the Terai. Pretty much everyone rode a bike on this highway. Buses were the other mode of transportation and they ride down the middle of the road. People were very friendly, it was hot and humid, flat, and the food was yummy in the road side stalls.
Anyway, long story short, most of the temples you see in the Kathmandu section are now destroyed due to the earthquakes of spring 2015. Very sad.
Worse, the trek we did in to the Himalaya- The Langtang Trek- was completely destroyed. All of the teahouses were destroyed, the entire village of Langtang and Kyanjin Gompa, the Gompa (monastery), and the trail itself. Many people died, locals, guides, and tourists. The village of Langtang was completely obliterated and buried by a landslide followed by an avalanche.
